Mental Health Workshops for High Schools

The next generation needs to know that It's Not a Life Sentence.

No difficulty, pain, mental illness, hardship, family issues or anything along those lines are life sentences.

Arineh Izmirlian is the Founder and Director of Power Educators, a tutoring organisation that exists to combine education with mental health awareness and encouragement.

Collaboration with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ)

In 2024, the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) approached Arineh for a meaningful collaboration. This initiative provided tutoring for students experiencing significant hardship and it served as a powerful reminder that students often carry more than just academic stress. Their emotional and mental wellbeing is a significant part of their lives.

A Holistic Approach: Education Meets Mental Health

Over the past four years, Arineh has led Power Educators with a vision to not only strengthen students academically but to also support their mental and emotional resilience. Many students have reached out directly for encouragement and mental health support.

Through its social media platforms and resources, Power Educators sends a clear message: it is not weak to speak, where there is breath there is hope, suicide is never the answer and that no difficulty, hardship, mental illness, family issue are life sentences.

Topics Arineh will cover

The importance of ending the stigma behind Mental Health.

I want to confront students with the reality of suicide rates and the importance of being mental health advocates in our friend groups and our families.

Suicide is never the answer and where there is breath there is hope.

This will be achieved through the vulnerability of my own struggles, what I've overcome and how life became more beautiful than I could have imagined.

I truly believe that vulnerability is so important when it comes to Mental Health conversations as vulnerability can reassure others that there truly is light at the end of the tunnel.

You never know what other people are going through.

I will be urging young people to leave gossip, drama, toxic relationships and fights behind.

Despite being young, I truly believe that young people can change the world and can live lives of integrity and example.

Your life has purpose and meaning - beyond your parents reproducing.

I will be encouraging young people that there is purpose and hope in every breath taken. The chances of existing is one in a billion. I truly believe that nothing about that is a coincidence.

Testimonials

"I just wanted to say thank you for taking time out of your day to speak to my daughter and to share your story. You are so inspiring and I think it was meant to be. Keep shining your light and thank you so much for doing this"
